Spindle ball bearings are the first choice when it comes to the highest demands on precision, speed stability, and service life. For decades, GMN has been developing specialized solutions for high-performance applications in machine tools, medical technology, aviation, and automation.
Our bearings meet the highest standards of axial rigidity, smooth running , and thermal stability – and enable reliable rotation even at speeds exceeding 2 million mm/min (n·dm).

Spindle ball bearings are based on single-row angular contact ball bearings, in which the raceways are designed to be able to absorb axial and radial forces – ideal for rotating systems with combined loads.
Through specific arrangement (O, X, or tandem arrangement), forces can be transmitted in both directions and bearing stiffness increased. Guidance accuracy requirements are reliably met through tight tolerances and finely tuned preloads.
Spindle vs. deep groove ball bearings – technical differences at a glance
In contrast to deep groove ball bearings, spindle ball bearings offer significantly higher axial rigidity and axial force support due to their steeper contact angle and targeted preload – essential for applications with defined tool forces or thermally demanding processes.
In conventional oil-lubricated spindle bearings, the lubricant is supplied via a lateral oil supply. GMN spindle bearings of designs +A, +AB, +L, and +LB enable direct oil supply to the lubrication point via a bore in the outer ring.

To ensure maximum machine uptime without the need for complex oil supply systems, GMN offers spindle bearings that deliver the lubricant in adjustable quantities directly to the lubrication point through bores in the outer ring.

All series are optionally available with hybrid bearings with ceramic balls – this reduces the rolling element mass, lowers the friction torque, improves start-up dynamics, and provides electrical insulation.
